Well, who doesn't love it? How can you not love it? To me, photography is one of the purest art forms. It captures parts of the most vibrant beauty we know of: Nature. Very few things can match the beauty of a sunset over a glassy shore, or a blade of grass covered in morning dew. And now, with modern day technology, we can capture these moments like never before.
To me, other forms of art are just mimicry of what we see around us. With a camera, a steady hand and a good eye for beauty, you can show others that beauty.
If you've never tried photography, I suggest that you pick up a camera and you get at it! It's not hard, but beware of the constant shooting that some digital photographers do. Take time with your shots, and think about them. It's likely that you or your family will have a camera, and if not, think about investing in one!

I LOVE photography :)Checked out your stuff, it's pretty sweet! I am better at doing graphical design stuff, but I ALWAYS enjoy taking pictures, it's one of my favorite things to do! I whole heartedly agree that the true beauty can only be shown in, well, the truth of it, AKA, real pictures, not paintings! Paintings and such are beautiful, but nothing compared to the realness!
